Lookout on the Line

11x14 (-ish) graphite on paper
NOTE: the greyish areas on the right of the train are actually deep black but the photo has bad reflections in that area.

This tied for second place at SPACE gallery in Burlington, VT on Friday night. It was a popularity contest, really. You bring in your art, pay $8, and between 5pm and 8pm that night, people vote on their favourite work. So, it kinda depends on your ability to muster out your friends. About 350 people came out for this. So, given that I couldn't be around for the opening, and had no one there to vote for me, I'm quite happy with the third place. BTW, the gallery gives 100% of the entry fee to the winner - which would have been about $200.

Going to the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Jct, VT on Aug 18th for their art show along with the painting 'Souvenirs' and an older small painting 'Winter Night Lights'.
